Yes definitely. I had quite a long a period of procrastination a while ago, then suddenly a colleague called and asked me to help debug some issue he had problems with. That day the time went very quickly and we solved the problem together.

What about safety critical software? For example software running inside airplanes, rockets, etc. Is that also easy, or it doesn’t count because it’s cross discipline? Although I would guess that many of those developers are indeed software

Yeah, I basically had those things but was very bored by my job, especially after starting working from home. Luckily I managed to find a job where I still have those things but within a domain which is more interesting to me. So the answer

Software wasn’t mentioned in the comment though. It might be an awesome place to work at within those other disciplines which were mentioned.
