This is an oversimplification of the problem. You need to drain the requests to the old version then wait until the new one passes a health check before rerouting the traffic

I disagree, Kubernetes is becoming a default choice. Small companies still want declarative config, load balancing and zero downtime deployments. It is so easy now to spin up a managed cluster and deploy an app, the complexity argument has

Sounds like your not using Kubernetes? Might be worth exploring a managed platform such as GKE or k3s on your own infra. Tooling such as skaffold.dev would alleviate some of your complaints around deploy lifecycle. It will watch for code ch

I agree, the infection rate in many countries such as U.K. is a finger in the air due to lack of testing especially early on in the pandemic where it was almost impossible to get tested. Also, many people will only get tested if they have s

How would you feel if you lost your job because of something you said years ago was deemed offensive? Doesn’t have to be about race, political wrongthink is enough to be cancelled. When I was at school in the 90s, I said things that are una

Distributed cloud computing is complex, k8s provides a solid abstraction based on decoupled reconciliation loops that work together in a common control plane. One of the most compelling facets of k8s is this declarative and extensible arc

Sweden are a model of pragmatism, taking a sensible choice to not have an authoritarian lockdown. Freedom of choice, freedom of movement and freedom of commerce are sacred.

Why are people failing to grasp that languages have context? Twitter, GitHub and others are clearly lacking some "mastery" of language semantics, such as homonyms. Perhaps we should be lobbying for better English education? Nah sc

I find it quite disheartening how easily people in the U.K. adopted a culture of informing on their neighbours for things like walking the dog twice in a single day and shaming people on social media.

I think this is partially because the UK government was cleansed of any moderates and is now made up of ultra conservative Brexit supporters. Any cooperation with other EU nations on COVID-19 would be rejected as unpatriotic.

As a starting point, try to accept that you find comfort in idleness. Be ok with sitting and doing nothing. It sounds like your anxiety is being driven by your guilt in not achieving enough.
