Hm, I've run many a 5000+ revision subversion repository through git-svn and had no issues. I'm not a git evangelist, but the tools for migrating from subversion are pretty good.

Many people are using it, they're just not the types writing "10 Great Form Validation Plugins for jQuery" posts, so it might not seem like it. The same can be said of Dojo, but in my opinion Closure is Dojo done right.

In addition to the complaints about this flooding history, I expect the "background" style to appear first once I've typed "bac", and even with "background" there's some webkit thing first.

Typical utilitarian bullshit, and with a shade of bigotry at that. Who are you to deem this activity wasteful? The man produces something that other people want, and you want to go ahead and condemn all parties because mass production is mo

The thing about that is, once you've solved that problem, you don't really have to solve it again. In fact, I had hardware issues with my new laptop with Ubuntu, which seemed to be making false assumptions (it's just a new Thinkpad!), that

People should just be using Debian if they want a stable system with good package management with a large repository. Archlinux is very good, but its repository is tiny compared to Debian and I trust Debian package maintainers more than pre

Or maybe I use a different library? Maybe jQuery is not to my liking at all? The convention of writing libraries as jQuery-specific is a cancer in the community right now. Making a library specific to a particular utility should be a second

I think you should have params to the validators, specifically for the regex case, in which the callback_ approach, with registration and such, is quite onerous. { rules: 'regex', params: { regex: [/abc/] }

Or you could just call it CurrencyConverter and let me say var fx = new CurrencyConverter(), deciding if I want it to be called that. Global clobbering should be opt-in, not opt-out.

Sound like awfully low-level things to discuss, except in the occasional code review where something is glaring. Also, map() and filter() aren't quite deprecated but most would agree that the list comprehension is more Pythonic.

I was looking at the example code, where bot logic and the run() was defined in the same module. That can't be reloaded. The reloader looks like it works for "plugins." It all seems unnecessarily complex to me. Also, your handlers should be

Why is it called irctk if it doesn't use Tk?? I recommend you hot-reload code. My IRC bot is a humble 150LOC split over two files. The basic bot logic to connect to a network lives in the script I run. That bot object sets its handler to an

Similarly, Ack.vim is indispensable, providing errorlist integration with `ack`. Between that and your project plugin of choice, or just a terminal tab per project, you get something much nicer than anything in TextMate (because of errorlis
