My first web hosting company ran away with my domain and I never got it back until it expired [0]. They ran away with 40,000 customers' domains. I had to learn how domains expired and catch it. I am thankful I guess, because I got involved

I've seen the effect too and depending on the nature of the site it can go down after a while too. Content sites come to mind, if you don't keep generating new content, the baseline drops. I think the answer though is a combination of all t

I can't help but point out, it's grammar not grammer. It's hard being a solo dev though, it's very possible though and it sounds like you're on a great track with 3k users :)

You get used to it. The first time I can empathize. I've been rejected 3 times now, I hardly noticed this time and forgot about it until I saw something on HN. You stop pinning any sort of hope on getting accepted and keep building/marketin

Sounds like a good use of a VP's time. Hunt down unhappy employees and lower morale instead of working on their products.

I am glad you recognize that. I worry tremendously about companies that don't realize the economics of registrars. Very few domainers actually own registrars, the biggest guys do, but most aren't technically inclined and work with existing

Except I can buy DYN's service for a domain registered anywhere. This is being packaged as an upsell of domain registration. I compare to both, but since it requires me to choose them as a registrar to use, I focus primarily on the registra

As a domainer and a geek here are my thoughts: Price: too high. I am paying $8.49 per .com right now with Fabulous. NameCheap is 10.69 with no coupon. Asking for 12 is too high if I am renewing a lot of domains. API: A lot of registrars hav

That was my first reaction. I've never heard people about nuking hurricanes. This is a first. Also, the guy's name was Landsea. It's always fun when someone's name seems relevant to what they do.

As a developer, I think it's already happened as some degree. Do I feel threatened? Not in the slightest. Plenty of people hire developers on eLance et al at low rates. I've seen no impact on myself or my developer friends. Stand up at a te
