Obviously anecdata, but: 1: I’ve been scripting for 5 years using Python. I purchased a subscription to use GPT4 to see if it could assist me. In the end it took me more time to fix its mistakes than to just apply my knowledge of knowing wh

From what you’re saying it sounds like we just have different experiences. The companies I’ve worked for have respect for security and invest heavily in it. Before the days of SOARs we made an effort to script our own automation using Pytho

I’m not sure why you seem so agitated suddenly. As you know I’m sure, a SOAR is meant for automation. The simple tasks with simple decision making are piped to the SOAR. Additionally there’s a lot of work that goes into the space between “s

Why is that any less of an incentive to report than it was, say, 2 decades ago? Doesn’t it make more sense that the numbers are accurate?

Plenty of people have an incentive to report higher numbers of crime. Why would they stay silent? Even the news would love a higher crime rate and they the most capable to sell the story and extract the profits.

No, what you’re describing is what gets filtered to the people in charge of the SOAR who then automate those outcomes. Even with the top tools and detection you still absolutely need knowledgeable people to decide whether an alert is a fals

Sure, after literally everything else. Security remains top of the pile in terms of (targeted) creativity and foresight, things that separate “just AI” from “does everything imaginable for us” and indeed the threshold for what we can start

Not a lawyer but if that’s the case, could California say “Fine, but Twitter can no longer do business in California”? Edit: not necessarily saying they should, I’m just wondering if they can. Edit 2: Looks like the most they could do is ma

We? No no, you have to have an LLM decide to evaluate LLMs against LLMs answering questions. Then we can have LLMs decide what the outcome means.

I agree with this but I’ve found that the people making the decisions of who to hire usually have some incentive to hire from a certain country. Those reasons could be kickbacks, family stake in the company, etc. Edit: This is completely an

Presumably the parent comment meant that their English was poor to the point where they couldn’t communicate effectively with the worker, not that the worker was getting their point across but lacking pristine grammar. As an anecdote I’ve f

I would expect the US to retake New Hampshire instead of just letting an occupying force keep it regardless of what the majority was. Land has tactical/resource values.

Also an anecdote but I’ve had the same experiences. The one that sticks out to me was a few years ago. I’m prone to sinus infections and this one just wouldn’t go away. I booked an appointment with an NP. She took a brief look at me and the

As a pentester this new wave of GPT-led development has been both a nightmare and a dream. A nightmare because we have “devs” using it to develop applications laden with vulnerabilities. As an example we found a web app with account enumera
