The first is a butchers steel, these were traditionally just a plain smooth steel rod which were used to repair the edge, shoving a knife through a joint tends to bend the very fine edge of the blade leaving what seems like a very dull spot

Practice. It is one of those things like riding a bike that you have to put in the time and mess up at if you want to master. It might take an hour or two to get that first blade sharp but once you develop the skill it will become easy. The

Don't think I can call this a guide, it advocates for linux on thinkpads and the 16:10 screen ratio then throws in the standard links for linux on thinkpads but does not offer the reader any real guidance. The 16:10 ratio is quite nice

It goes back to at least the 50s, Japan had a thing for giant mutant monsters resulting from the bombs, Godzilla and all that fun stuff. I have never encountered anyone using mutants as a talking point for an anti-nuclear agenda.

Sailboats can steer with just their sails, will limit the directions you can go but you are not completely adrift. Mainly it means you stop being picky about where you make landfall and just pick the nearest port given prevailing winds.
