I used to think this was a good idea before I found dataclasses, attrs, and Pydantic. Now I realize it's a terrible idea.

For most applications, I would not use uv's managed Python in production. I would use it just to manage dependencies. Follow along with the Docker guide on uv: https://docs.astral.sh/uv/guides/integration/

If you're just writing tiny scripts for yourself, sure use the system Python. If you're doing work on a large Python app for production software, then using system Python isn't going to cut it.

Never understood why there are so many Rust-based JS tools like Rsbuild, Oxc, SWC, Rolldown. They all seem identical.

Congrats on the incredible funding round! I was already impressed by how extensive the docs were and how polished the service is looking, and that's even before $12.5 million!

You can use list instead of List for typing since 3.9. I use that daily. Also the pipe | operator instead of Union/Optional. Nicer dict unions/updates. https://docs.python.org/3/whatsnew/3.9.html https:

Note that you probably should not add database checking in a health endpoint because it can cause a cascading failure where all your services then restart when the issue is just the database service.

This release feels really boring. The GIL stuff will be cool eventually. New interpreter sounds useful. The only other thing I see using is typing.TypeIs.

In the async_db.get_row() function, put a little asyncio.sleep(0.2) and then test again with hundreds of requests at once on a webserver with N workers and see what happens. Flask is going to run out of workers to handle the requests and Gu

PgQueuer seems pretty similar to Hatchet - both use Postgres, require their own worker processes, both support async. Hatchet seems to be a lot more powerful though: cron, DAG workflows, retries, timeouts, and a UI dashboard.
