What someone outside the culture thinks is "innocent or praising" might not be seen that way by someone inside the culture. That's why we ask permission.

I'm really interested in exploring it for building web app backends because of this. Being able to have a drag-and-drop distribution is even better.

Went in thinking I would find out a few pitfalls for the event-driven app I'm writing... > Commands only have a single consumer. There must be a single consumer. That’s it. They do not use the publish-subscribe pattern. ...oops. Now

The article doesn't ignore that. The point is that we keep talking about that future as if it's now, and it's simply not.

As someone using Svelte for a project, I'm always happy to see something less React-specific. But yeah, I'm kinda over Tailwind. You whipper-snappers think CSS sucks so much; back in my day* we had font tags and tables! *high scho

Reads like this is for Roku TVs. They've gotten wise to the fact that I'm using my Apple TV more (because I can't update the Roku software any higher), but they still want to sell me ads. I try to stay above stuff... but fuck

Trying it now on my super-specific codebase, and it seems to be working for the most part. Well done! I was able to get started on a new feature, and it got about 80% there with my custom-built framework: https://github.com/

It was essential back in the Mac OS 9 / early Mac OS X days. The .sit archive was one of the only things that reliably handled the resource fork in the HFS file system, and pretty much all the freeware I downloaded back then was in .si

Feels like the same kind of malicious compliance with the rest of their DMA changes: 1. WebKit has access to special OS-level APIs that allow it to install and power web apps. 2. The DMA requires support for alternative browser engines with

Having bought a few sets from Signature Plastics and a few other places, I have to say I'm impressed with their quality. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but they feel nicer than some other manufacturers I've seen. Hope they

Glad you have a job and stable employment! When I think of who Amazon has "ground into dust," it's not Microsoft and Google. It's Barnes & Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, hundreds of thousands of small independent books

Being someone who spent a lot of time in the WordPress space and is building a pretty complex PHP app now, I think I see the whole movement of "server-side React" as a subset of developers doing everything they can to not learn

I'm a little confused by your comment. The line in question isn't saying "Now you have angered our messiah," it's saying "Now you see what we've had to deal with for years; sucks, right?"

Hard disagree. I'm looking at a similar license setup for my upcoming project, and I'm going with AGPL because I want to ensure any _users_ of the software have access to the source code. Nothing is stopping anyone from setting up
