Ring a ding. This. Every time I see a comment about an open source phone I am curious if the poster of the comment is actually going to fine comb the code base.

I’m a nerd and I wouldn’t switch. I’d be pissed for an hour but at the end of the day my phone, laptop, watch, TV and car all syncing my music and crap with no effort is too appealing to scoff at. Hell if I found out they had a meat locker

Amateur may not have been the best word. Maybe easy or lazy or debt. Ive seen it a lot where it was something that was inherited and the current team knows its a problem, but they have a 1000 features to build and never get around to fixing

Private repo or not, checking your credentials into git is amateur. I’d normally say eventually it’d bite you if you fall into the habit and do it on a public repo by accident but it looks like it can bite you on a private one too. Manage y

Ugh. This really worries me - not because I’m afraid of driverless cars but because this is the kind of “news” headline that will get anti-driverless car jerks all up in a righteous tizzy. Title should be NO_TITLE because “doofus driving tr

It feels good! I had a rails/ar based report that I "fixed" at my last job that when it ran it generated 1100 reads (not even N+1, a lot of other crazy aggregates, etc). It was complicated, but I got it into one query, subque

The “dead tree edition.” Good play, sirs. I’m going have to get that one though. I can’t seem to focus/finish when reading educational books on my kindle or in PDF form. I like the “turn thousands of lines of code into queries”... I c
