So, if I have 30 nodes and my data is sharded between them, how is that better than having app/client side join, where I have more control what to fetch and what not? I could potentially cache results. I mean, you realize if data is di

Java in particular... I don't want to use a small community supported driver in production. Which may be the reason that popular frameworks will not release support until there is one. I just trying to compare with my current stack spr

I like the idea of LTS release. Btw, how do you know that "Thousands of developers are already building applications backed by RethinkDB;"? PS: I hope we'll see soon more official drivers...

Be able is one thing, but be up to date is another... Also the lack of Oracle/Sun version may be a show stopper for some.

Sure, at that time(a few years ago) it was a hassle to install jdk(had to download binaries to install openjdk). Also, I don't think Oracle has BSD version. PS: Thanks for asking, since this made me want to try it again :)

Can anyone please give a simple example or link of a use case of containers need? I use KVM/Qemu VMs at home and work(dev box), I have a dozen always running VMs. However, I started to read more and more about LXC containers, and still

What are you talking about? I use IDE everyday and I'm not questioning the importance of IDEs, i'm questioning the fan base :) All I'm saying is that the whole "it's worth paying extra", "it's so much

The more comments about IntelliJ IDEA I read, the more it reminds me of apple fans... It's just a tool and not a miracle! But hey, everyone is special and has the right to opinion, right? :)

I'm not an expert, but based on my experience I can tell you following: 1. it is not a Linux, it is a Unix system; 2. it used mostly on servers, stable as centos/red hat/other solid linux; 3. can be used on desktop too; 4.it

No one said that update from 6.4 to 6.5 needs clean install. I just did this yesterday without much thinking... just "yum -y update". I must admit though, I don't have much installed, but in past I had the same experience...

Why the fck are you downvoting this? It was just a fcking opinion, if a tool makes you productive use it! A bunch of narrow minded people...

My thought was that any IDE would've made you more productive imho. That's the point of an IDE to give you as much possible so you could focus on your tasks...

I guess most used part would be an integrated tomcat server that I could start and stop within IDE, other web development features would be to work well with popular frameworks like spring...

I love and hate Eclipse/STS, but I don't think I will ever switch to IDEA, I love my freedom more. The least I can do for open source community is to use open source products and report bugs.

I use Linux daily, I develop using open source technologies, it's not for me... it doesn't feel right. + I want my freedom! I don't to be stuck with one product...
