Available = you can see one of replicas, you are good to go. CAP is good to understand what are the limitations when you have partitioned network. FoundationDB does not give you Availabity though, only CP.

It is same for all CP systems in terms of CAP. During partition, clients that have access to the leader, could read/write. Clients that have access to non-leader servers could only read consistent data to the point when non-leader lost

"FDB can tolerate f failures with only f+1 replicas." is too vague. What kind of failures and in which situations? If "failure" is a netsplit, only single partition would allow writes, because they choose CP from CAP the

How is it different from stock images? People could sell not their work on the stock sites, and it is pretty hard to detect. Or impossible to detect, if you ask some AI model to repaint the image first, before putting it into the stock.

Oh, AWS uses both, does not help much. It has prices such as 0.000001$ per request (which is evil) and virtual currencies like Load Balancer Capacity Units (LCU). Circle CI has points too. Basically, everything so you would not figure out t

Google Maps was also cheap. Initially. So it is aggressively cheap now, but would aggressively change later.

The way to kill open source is by first killing faith in it. MS: we like "open standards", here is our implementation specific stuff. Amazon: we don't care what would be with a project. If it is open source - we host it and g

If tests are very low quality it is the same as no tests. (so recursion here). If tests are low quality, they somehow managed to pass the code review. So, I would have more wider questions to the project, knowing this. Adjusting tests requi

You are less likely to rewrite something that is proven to work and has absolutely no tests. At least in any company, which relies on the service (because chances to break something are high). Bad (or very "smart) design usually crysta
