A short video (25 minutes) about the start of Zinclair and Acorn, and how the ARM (RISC) CPU saved Apple.

Same with the Acorn Atom. But you could sort of get it working anyway by way of 'drawing' the characters on the bitmap screen (probably a very similar solution).

There are those who believe that English should be considered North Germanic (Scandinavian) rather than West Germanic: https://brill.com/view/journals/ldc/6/1/article-p1_1.xml?lan...

Interesting. This is about Welsh: "Likewise, diwrnod ‘day’ goes back to Latin diurnāta, apparently an alternative word for ‘day’ that also led to French journée and Italian giornata." In Danish the word 'døgn' indicates

I use the last name of science fiction authors for my machines, and the first character is a hint to the usage. E.g. NAS is Niven, Web server is Wells etc. (don't ask me for the name of the developer box).

It's not perfect on a phone, but I use it on my Galaxy Android phone occasionally. AFAIK it works better in desktop mode, depending on what you want to do.

Yes, you can make swimlanes in Kanboard. I've used it for several years now (self hosted), and can recommend it. Migrated from Trello some years ago. Mostly using it for small personal projects, but it seems to also scale well and has

At some point in time there was something called Domino (or more precisely Lotus Domino Server). Basically it was a server for Lotus Notes solutions. You could flick a switch, and then you turned your Notes-based solutions into web-applicat

So if I were to replace a large switch statement with a decision table, then that's AI all of a sudden?

Interesting. In another comment user shmageggy claims that decision trees have always been considered AI. I realise that my question should have had a more precise definition of AI.

This reminds me of some of the early search engines before Google took over the world. Very nostalgic but yeah: Maybe a bit too much in the other direction :-)

Yeah, maybe my question was a bit too general. I am not sure I would consider decision trees and the like as 'AI' in any sense. They are just another form of algorithms to me. So you are right: ChatGPT and similar tools are the ty

Mostly I want to ensure valid and correct search results, and I'm a bit worried that apparently all search engines are now struggling to use AI (ML/LLM) in one form or the other. I don't trust 'AI' in the current st
