Just been watching a documentry on floating homes in Amsterdam. Could be worth checking it out. Look for 'Amsterdam's Futuristic Floating City'. It's one of the Extreme Engineering series. Episode 7. I saw it on Discovery Science. Hth.

I guess someone could take the list, and put a rate up next to each book to see which ones people think are actually the quality books. I still rate paper books over scanning through pdf for a solution or fix to a book. I'm definitely wrong

Perhaps try leaving a few sets of smarts in the office drawer, for the occasional day when it isn't so hot & humid and do the cycle just a couple of times a week. You will notice a difference :)

I tried the cycling to work, and found I could make it work for me on a 6 mile or so, 30 minute cycle, twice a week. My bike was slow, and I wasn't particularly fit. Incidentally, I did try the going slower thing, but I don't know if it's M

Ahh I thought this was a letter from 'beyong the grave' rather than a historical one. Oh well. Imagine he's out there doing something clever somewhere.

I guess if you can build a mvp quickly in .net why not? It's what you're familiar with, and there's a lot of talent in that tech out there if you need to expand. You'll probably need more than one techie though?

People might think coders are a bit self-important if we start analogising our project's as cities rather than buildings. Maybe some projects are more building innovation centres, that later go on to be used within actual buildings, and som

4) Start in a small geographical area. A city. On the basis that most people are looking for a date close to them. Saw within 20 miles? Get it right there, then move to the next few closest cities. Use geographically targetted advertising f

1) Ok, so let's say, you get ratio the number of men to no more than 20% of the women (overall/in certain geographic areas), and remove inactive profiles from search 2) That's fine - let's go for the low cost end. A fee that's half to 1/3

People pay for allsorts of rubbish. Why wouldn't they pay _something_ for your product? It's what level would they pay ... start higher than you think, and offer discounts til people bite :)

Let's fix them? Competitive. Yes. But, their may be a model for a small annual subscription instead of the quite high current monthly subscription model. How about $20 per year? £10 I'm thinking - I live in the UK. okcupid/pof are great, bu

Wiki's work well for me. Not for everyone though. I've not found forum's too work at all. Email does actually work, but requires a lot of search when a topic becomes relevant again. However, I think a clone of HN for internal stuff maybe o

This really is quite a superb list. I just need to clone myself to find time to try some more - perhaps a collaborator will help... with Rails, PHP, Grails in use at the moment, one more language may just blow a socket. Thanks for posting.

Like it a lot, though often the advantage of a cheatsheet is printing it out so you can stick it on the wall, or have it beside you whilst coding. This is still a great site though.
