Weekday and hour of commit times (relative to the commiter's timezone; I remember the previous version used some GitHub timezone). Not sure if they use CommitTime or AuthorTime.

There were problems of availability for a while after kernel.org got hacked, admins weren't very quick to restore services from a blank slate (I believe git access took four weeks). Some developers mirrored their stuff on github or repo.or.

The casting is quite faithful to the comics. Though yeah, I don't know about the acting.

HTTPS or not, Stripe accepting credit card data on a site they don't control is extremely worrying.

Or maybe people just break it up; Amazon's strange response curve would encourage that.

Is RiteVM related? The reddit faq mentions both embedded systems and embedding via C API, I don't know which is the goal of that project. (sorry if that was covered in the talk, I'd rather not watch youtube right now)

Creativity and innovation have been happening for much of human history. Perceived unfairness that the progress of technology doesn't delineate individual's contributions isn't really something that has held back society. On the other hand,

What makes this sillier is that in a decentralised internet, TCP needs dropped packets to detect congestion and keep latency down.

Those aren't necessarily legal (and might be ill-received in a region that doesn't want more unemployment); on the other hand, making use of the whole rolodex after leaving might be regulated as well.

The higher-profit-per-employee option might be more vulnerable to competition, by self-employed cleaners or by someone with a similar business model.

In other words: IP implies IPv6. Don't say it speaks IP if what it supports is just IPv4.

As far as opt-in solutions go, the NPN TLS option is simpler. Though large sites might prefer to go all the way and deploy SPDY.

The guessable primes were in routers sold to the general public, which as a rule are cheap and don't get any kind of security maintenance. It's rather shameful that vendors of expensive “SSL accelerators” aren't able to fix their problems.

The nightlies already have this, in the form of a plugin icon at the extreme left of the location bar.

There's an “enable plugins” icon at the left of the location bar when the page contains those. It's a bit less visible than the one for pop-ups, but at least it's in an area that can't be spoofed.

Here is epubcheck if that helps anyone: https://code.google.com/p/epubcheck/ Seems to be a typo in index.md, and a bug in Pandoc which lets non-well-formed xml tags pass through unquoted.

I was looking for something in the announcement that warns people that the flag will be on in the next major release. “Told you so (in specific detail)” is a good argument to oppose to users who didn't fix their doctests.

Rebuilding the source packages should be easy enough, just loop over the .dsc urls and run dget -x; sudo mk-build-deps -i; debuild; sudo debi. pbuilder and sbuild also work for cross-builds, but I didn't get the hang of cross-building entir
