So, it's better than US made spyware which cannot be removed from "our" PC CPUs? Best we can do is "disable" these features in the BIOS/UEFI and sleep well, even though we nothing's really stopped. Sorry f

What's so bad about snaps? I know they start slow on any given hardware, as evident from my own computer, but apart from that, I don't really know. What are the pros and cons compared to what else is out there?

I don't have particularly big prints in mind. I thought if they look good enough for 24/27 inch 1080/1440 monitor, they ought to suffice for a print of similar size. Not a big expert, me

I have no agency to back my claims but yeah, I would also like to advise against using deeply personal stuff to determine anyone's effective social score. Oh, you eat too much, or the wrong things. Oh, but smoke, drink. Oh, you're

Taking the time to develop an application that is usable with a kbd/mouse is a tough sell, even when not dealing with mobile apps. Some people want to do it, but does it bring more money? No... so we, don't do it unless someone do

I was so impressed the first time I saw a relative use their government mandated accounting software for DOS. That woman was going through forms faster than me doing mortal kombat 3 combos. Not sure that would be possible these days with re

There only two things I remember about my first day at a large telco. The one relevant to this topic was the call centre. I had never seen cubicles in real life before. Looked absolutely horrible even from the outside. What really made an i

You can do 3d with CSS but to my knowledge there's no way to apply lighting and that, to me, is the real deal breaker. Otherwise people would've done all kinds of unnecessary but cool demos just for the sake of it.

So, the concern here is that VC money is helping individuals with a little bit of excess money hire other people to do their bidding. Sounds like one of those "on a computer" things to me. I know the delivery business is booming e

This is what I came to say. Arch is fine but you are expected to babysit your PC and perform maintenance every week. And do that for each and every build in the house. Things break often and I am not interested in fixing them. And that'
