STAR voting has the added benefit of simplicity and being possible on paper ballots. This quadratic system has neither and would be rife with errors, confusion, and likely fraud when used among people who don't vote for a living.

The analogy used in this article is too ill-fitting to find compelling. It does prompt me to wonder to what extent a person's digital traces left upon the world could be construed as a creative output that they own as a form of intelle

Though I suppose I've gotten accustomed to using double quotes to specify mandatory search terms, perhaps we can get back the `+foo` search syntax that was so unceremoniously taken from us and reappropriated for Google+?

I've bought houses using an agent and not, and the latter was in every way more pleasant and predictable. The agent (and their supervising broker) overlooked fundamental items in the contract which ought to have been obvious, like ensu

It would be interesting to see how age factors into this spread. During this study's timeframe at least, older people have had more opportunity to accrue wealth and have children (who have also had more time to go to college). In my an

Dawkins is amazingly lucid when he sticks to topics he knows very well. “The Selfish Gene” and “The Extended Phenotype” were world altering for me. Like integral calculus, I rarely have cause to apply the concept in the domain in which it w

That's the inverse of how I understand those terms and how loaded they are. “Prayer” is a nearly universal religious practice even in ones that are not especially theistic, whereas “grace” is a distinctly Christian notion.
