That's amazing. I was going to post that here as a follow-up, but you beat me to it. :)

On a whim, I recently updated my LinkedIn picture to a photo of myself in a multi-coloured clown wig. This put an immediate end to all messages from recruiters.

It's not necessarily _just_ about dealing with stagnation. It's also about finding a way for people to start contributing to open source. If you've never released anything, just patching someone else's work is a great

You can disable f.lux for specific applications. I do that I'm watching a movie as it just isn't the same when everything is orange. At least that way it's still on for the apps you need when coding etc.

On my laptop, I've been using f.lux [0] to prevent the bright monitor lighting from keeping me too alert late into the night. It took me a while to get accustomed to the hues, but I really like the way the light softens as the evening

People can also be quite optimistic. You may think that in X months you'll have a better job, better pay, etc. "It will all work itself out." In many cases your situation doesn't improve and you're saddled with th

Here's the relevant commit. https://github.com/andk/pause/commit/0e3ab7d88a3ff6a9ea72af0... The decision to remove the registered list had already been made in 2013 and I really don't think it was

I don't like that it does this out of the box, but you can add something like the following to ~/.mackup.cfg [applications_to_ignore] ack bash git screen ssh tmux vim

Your setup sounds pretty much like mine, so it would be portable in my case. :) Having said that, if this were available as an RBL that would also be really great.

Do you have any plans to release this software? I've got a small hosting business and SpamAssassin seems to be getting beaten on a very regular basis.

There is mention at the very bottom of this article that a great way to improve your Perl skills is to participate in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) or the Outreach Program for Women (OPfW). I've been involved in the selection proce

Lots of good feedback in the comments, but this repository appears to be about 7 days old. I think it's fair to call it a work in progress, even if there's no disclaimer to that effect.

I'm going to be in the minority here, but when I hear Pagekit, I think of Apache::PageKit, also known as plain old "PageKit". See http://pagekit.org/

It's hard to simplify something like bullying, but there can be a pecking order involved, where people who are bullied in turn bully other people whom they feel they can influence in some way. So, in some cases you may only need to pus

I find it especially helpful to add location when posting a photo of some landmark or public event. I wouldn't tag tweets by location when I'm at home, but if I'm out it's a neat way to complement the tweet.

I can second this. I spent 2 weeks in an apartment with no hot water. The first 30 seconds or so in the shower left me struggling for air. After that, it's a lot better. Not good, but better.

I didn't get the point of Alfred until I tried it out. Now it feels weird to work on a machine that _doesn't_ have it installed. The workflows and the ability to (easily) add your own are what make it so great. I use this workflow
