Have you read the case? It's not about the crops getting cancer from the herbicide, it's a human being. Also human being is not a GMO product. I don't understand your GMO angle.

The presecution claims it's not the active ingredient but the whole herbicide that's cancer causing. I think the studies are only on one of the ingredients, not on the whole herbicide? Also, questions of exposure are not addressed

Directly or indirectly connected isn't my point. I was referring to the large amount of electrical activity in the brain and we don't really understand what it actually encodes. Unless we reverse engineer it (which is insanely har

How would you be so confident that neuron is both the software and the hardware? Do we actually understand how we have cognition ? There is tremendous amount of electrical activity in the brain (and the entire nervous system). One could arg

Neuron is the hardware. We have no idea how the software on it works. The way we model neural networks might be a very different from the operating system of the brain. It's like saying we mapped the x86 chip so we should be able to to

How is a person being born different from a dying person? First has hope, dreams, enthusiasm and optimism. Latter may not.

How is that incompatible? If you partner with a crook, can't you take a responsibility for making that mistake (of not seeing the signs) but still call the other person out for being a crook? Taking responsibility is different from say

This brings back some fond memories. I once made a 3D OpenGL clone of space invaders for a graphics course (Windows only). It made a bunch of changes and was actually playable and reasonably challenging...don't know if it even works to

My experience isn't the same as yours. It probably depends on your circle. For my non tech circle, I always come across as some kind of hero, which is amusing. When entering the country, even the immigration officers like to make small

I'm confused by this article. I agree with the author that the flat earth coordinate model as advocated by him can converge with the spherical model if we allow it to account for changes as we move away from the poles. But I think he m
