The point is that Mojo compiles to MLIR for programming on heterogenous compute and GPU so something like Pydantic isn't really comparable here. The alternatives would be stuff like CUDA

Do you know CUDA or Triton? The point of Mojo was to replace GPU kernel programming langs with a Pythonic one that was more familiar

The premise of Mojo used to be that it was a superset of Python so in theory LLMs would benefit from that but I'm not sure how much divergence there's been

I think it's positive and at the very least it's a force countervailing the push to legislate or ban open models in the US If they were able to make a leading closed model would they be doing it though? It seems like they read the

One thing worth noting is that syntactic density doesn't necessarily mean cheaper because because symbols don't chunk/tokenize as well as plain English What I see from results like this is that the delta between languages is

The problem here is that "mechanical empathy" is for most neurotypical humans at odds with fun. It's hard to say that static typing is "fun" but at this point the benefits are so abundantly obvious that it's be

This is the double edged sword of particularly extensible customizable languages is that they invariably won't produce a robust ecosystem of packages that can compose with each other in the manner of pip/npm/crates

Personally I think expressivity and type system power are what make a language "fun". If languages were video games, the Lisp family and Lean4 feel much more like an open-world game with many ways to play it like Factorio or Minec

I'd argue Rust is one of the most "unfun" languages in terms of syntax but it's offset by the crates ecosystem and cargo toolchain being easily the most pleasant within systems programming No matter if C or C++ was more

Why does anyone owe you a job if someone elsewhere can do it as good or better and more economically. What entitles you to work simply because you are based in the West? Sounds like a skill issue

It's getting hard to find any study posted without a kneejerk "correlation does not equal causation" take as if that's not something researchers have to control for in order to even conduct the study in the first place,

I think offshoring to the Phillipines is extremely net-positive from a purely utilitarian sense I know a lot of Filipinos and essentially 100% of them in white-collar work are using the money to support their extended families. The money ge
