Any physicist willing to comment? Sure, the spin matrices were built to deal with three spatial axes. Is there more to the paper than that?

I think I disagree with nkmnz' specifics. But I'm not sure! It's possible I might agree with nkmnz across the board. This might be a case where someone familiar with the subject could follow what you're saying just fine,

I don't think you're distinguishing consistently or clearly between the OP and the theory being examined in the OP.

Let's say Joe and Jane are both illegally parked. It is not "special pleading" to point out that Joe is illegally parked. That's not the meaning of the phrase.

Alternate explanation: Dickens was pretty good but sometimes a critic, even Henry James, is just someone who doesn't like stuff. IANAEM, I am not an English major.

I agree that reasonable dissenting posts have been flagged here. If that's what you're saying?

I can't quite see why complaints about the lack of quantitative support are unreasonable. They sound reasonable to me. In fact there seems to be a very broad consensus that the article lacks supporting numbers.

This is a physics thing, and it may well leave laypeople curious. But the specifics are the theory.

Propagation delay for light in a semiconductor tends to be roughly equal to propagation delay for electrical signals in a semiconductor. It's not exactly equal because the dielectric constant is a function of frequency. This is assumin

It's a very enjoyable read. Have you considered adding a little note or link near the beginning of the article, indicating how you know these jets and so forth will do the work you need them to do? (Or, if you're not sure they wil

It's correct to use dB without a suffix to indicate a pure ratio. (It's ok if some people don't see why that's correct. That's acceptable.) Nobody (I hope) says that 100mW is "10 dBm" more than 10mW. That

...unless we're talking about a unitless ratio, like "this has 10dB less power than that". Which happens a lot.

Agreed, you are using the word "projecting" fine. But you're ignoring the actual behavior of people using dB in the real world.

To be fair, since we can go to +3dB out of 0dB, we could also go to 200% on a 100% scale. In the era of software it would not be completely insane to allow users to choose how their faders are marked. (It would be insane to use 3/4 o

It makes perfect sense that the sliders start at 0dB and go down to -inf. Maybe you don't understand it, but it definitely makes sense. Everyone who uses dB has also tried a % scale with 100% as 0dB, and then later made a conscious cho

I don't know anything about literature. For me, Man Without Qualities seemed incredibly boring (in the English translation I read). Is there some trick to this? Am I missing something?

As best I can see, you weren't originally talking about the reason for creating NumPy. Instead you seemed to be talking about the reason for using NumPy.

I mean yes. Also in your example where you hardly spend any time running Python code, the performance difference likely wouldn't matter.

I really disagree. That's not the only point of NumPy. A lot of people use it like Matlab, to answer questions with minimal coding time, not minimal runtime.

Right, you can use loops. But then it goes much slower than a GPU permits.

Yes. If you do a diffraction experiment where a particle scatters off a lattice of atoms, but leaves no trace of which atom it interacted with, then you see a diffraction pattern that corresponds to the superposition of all the possibilitie

It has to be a completely ideal box. That's a very extreme condition, so it messes very badly with people's intuition. It can not be a metal box with a cat in it, for example. "It's a thought experiment" means "

For what it's worth, it doesn't work this way at all with an actual cat in an actual metal box. You get a superposition if there's no possible way to tell what has happened. You don't get a superposition just because yo
