Good grief, don’t identify me and the rest of HN with then. I don’t want to be “us” with people in government who make a virtue out of being unaccountable solely because they’re successful engineers.

It’s the definition of failing up: you sin bullshit for long enough, and make big enough changes, that you get your next job before you’re accountable for the consequences.

The good news: battery life ranges about 3-5 hours; close to an older Switch. However, I wonder how much of that performance is distro-dependent (i.e. scheduler, knobs to turn on/off services), which might affect moddability.

The author's argument is that aptitude requirements did not change, but what changed is that some candidates were now less experienced after not having gone through ATC degrees. (But the author doesn't attribute the tragedy to tha

I assume you want ammunition against your own arguments. But I'm confused about what you're asking: you were talking in your original comment about the _admissions_ process to ATC academy, and now you're talking about the pro

I'm not sure how any of the current initiatives will lead to a balanced budget, to be honest. Here's a site by the Congressional Budget Office, which will likely be more reliable than the Treasury going forward. https://

For what it's worth, I wouldn't be surprised if Medicare ends up spending more per enrolled member because they'll force CMS to be more heavily reliant on Medicare Advantage plans administered by private insurers.

You're right – we'll see what the Republican majorities in Congress decide to do. You'd hope they wouldn't trample over the Congressional Research Service (of the LoC), but given the level of political debate I think it
