I tried it. I generally liked it, but was super annoyed at the lack of auto save. Even office online does this. I lost work as a result.

Can you really call yourself a power user if you haven’t adjusted to the new UI in over eleven (11) years? I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that doscoverability is nonexistent... everything is there, except now everything has icon

The difference is you pay a huge premium for Apple products, Linux distros are generally free (unless you want enterprise-style support). The same criticism applies to Windows - give it away for free and I might care less about crashes and

Where in the US have you been watching movies? I’ve never experienced this. The worst I’ve seen (and it bugs the heck out of me still) is people clapping when something big happens, but that is still quite rare. I’ve seen films in upstate N

The Word hover toolbar was one of the innovations in office 2007 (along with the Ribbon, live preview, and contextual grammar) and it’s one of my favorite features for the reasons you specify. A truly awesome feature that does not get nearl

I’ve been doing it since ~2006. Contrast was not an issue back then, and my very young eyes wouldn’t have (and still don’t) cared. I think maybe it was a manifestation of ADHD. Highlighting what I read helped me keep track of where I was if

Hotmail addresses still get modern email software - it is essentially the same online client that office 365 uses, and it works well. I dare say it is more powerful than gmail and just as modern. In fact, much more modern; gmail hasn’t chan

I interpreted the alternative to that being locally run AI, which is not implicitly spying on you and capable of doing nefarious things (e.g. not allowing you to navigate until you pay this month’s upgrade fee).

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Nowadays you’re not going to understand how a terminal works unless you’re doing some very specialized work or you really want to understand that. Young developers I’ve met are typically stuck on the t

Is that Skype for business? I’m similarly stuck using it at work and it is uniquely awful. We’ve been using it for years, but the video chat UI is so bad people struggle with it every single meeting. Even I forget from time to time.

I personally agree, but that would require a culture shift. I find it problematic that it is used inconsistently - all presidents other than Obama keep their titles for life. Maybe only white presidents keep their title for life? I’d rather

There have been studies on this. Your life (well, chance at ever being happy again) is effectively ruined by the death of one child, regardless of how many you have. You never stop loving or missing the one that died.

I don’t know if I have IBS, but I’ve noticed that lately if I push it too much with spicy foods I’m being punished in the form of unusually unpleasant and urgent BMs later. This is particularly annoying as I really, really like spicy food.
