It's nice to have this in the standard library, but it doesn't solve any existing pain points around structured log metadata and contexts. We use zap [0] and store a zap logger on the request context which allows different parts o

I wish I was as optimistic as you. I personally think people would be too preoccupied planning the elimination of the other human species to consider animals with greater respect. That being said, Noah Yuval Harari has very forward thinking

The big cloud providers attempt to detect and stop crypto mining. I'm not sure if there are ways around it, but if so, they probably involve mining incredibly inefficiently. Personally I would look into standing up one of the popular A

OpenAI's GPT-4 Technical Report [0] includes an anecdote of the AI paying someone on TaskRabbit to solve a CAPTCHA for it. It lied to the gig worker about being a bot, saying that they are actually a human with a vision impairment. [0]

I sort of agree but there are many product reasons not to do that. They could also have segregated the content in their existing app(s) more strictly. I, like you, am hardly ever interested in seeing both music and podcasts. Keep the "

In our high school we'd download games like Tetris and Block Dude for our TI84s. You could transfer the games to other calculators with a data cable. High scores would transfer, and you might try to build a collection of games. A text

I'm not confusing them, I'm saying that your schooling failed you as someone who would in all likelihood spend the rest of their life in a society that predominantly uses the imperial system. I am having a hard time believing that

To be honest it sounds like your schooling set you up for failure for living in the US. Are your speed limit signs not in MPH? Do you not buy your milk in gallons and commonly weigh things in pounds? What volume measuring spoons do you have

In the case of AI writing and art it seems to be exclusively tech people interested in it. Chat bots have existed in some form for decades so normal people are not impressed, and those interested in writing or art strongly dislike it for se

I was also interested in server sided Swift for a bit but didn't go very far with it. Java is the "obvious" choice for statically typed web backends. Personally I'll recommend Go and C#. Both have a low learning barrier

The actual issue for me is Google allowing an ad to say gimp.com that is not gimp.com. Even if you see it's an ad and are interested, you are now at risk on Google.

I worked for one of the big corporations in Louisville. Huge companies use lots of technologies but .NET, Java, React, SPA frameworks, Docker + Kubernetes, and cloud migrations are the norm.
