This should be a rite of passage: Read a sizeable RFC and make a passable implementation.

for me, it is orm -> schema bound views -> views -> table functions -> stored procedure as a last resort (hopefully it doesn't come to that)

I mean some cpu instructions match high level operations done on lists. Loading of arrays of structs, efficient operations on arrays, it feels like the discussions just ignore all this.

For me, it solves a very specific problem. In-house app that uses jdbc, is easy to develop and needs to be cross-platform (windows, linux, aix, as400). The speed picks up as it runs, usually handling 3000-5000 eps over UDP on decade old har

I've been rolling a 5 quantity long @ES since 2022. It hit stop once, made 30%, lost 10%, I waited for the next contract, entered again it just keeps printing. I intend to keep going for decades. Should have started earlier.

In my experience, AI assistance can't really do what you can't. Sure, you can force it, but the result will be a discardable mess. Yesterday I used Gemini and Claude cli to create a symbolic regression library in C++ with added st

MCP supports streaming responses. You could implement that by polling and a session state, but that's an inefficient hack.

It is not conspiracy, it is human nature. Bernard shaw put it best: If at age 20 you are not a Communist then you have no heart. If at age 30 you are not a Capitalist then you have no brains.

Let's be generous and say that a person's body runs on 1600kcal/day, which is pretty low and the other 1800kcal/day which is kinda average. The difference in weight loss between these two over six months eating and exerc

LLMs are glorified "LMGTFY" tools. AI assistance doesn't make people experts at anything. Some genz vibe coder isn't getting your job guys calm the heck down.

Not sure what they mean by "json gem", as it comes with ruby and not installed via gem install command. I've always used require 'json/ext' This uses the C extension version and is much faster.

Nah it's good thanks for your input. I saw people use plan.md and todo.md and ide/commandline for this before. manus.ai demonstrates this via its chat interface as well.
