I did this with AwesomeWM. The Lain (plugin/extension/i forget what its called in awesome) has a "centerwork" style layout that solves this exact issue. Actually it's really surprising how few tiling WMs support thi

> Network is steady and more bulletproof than wireless on Linux. I gotta disagree hard here. Macs have by far the most obnoxious and temperamental WiFi stack I've ever experienced. Constant disconnects, have to turn it off and on to

This is what I do when my job forced me to use a mac. I think the only thing I installed on the mac outside of it was Firefox. Worked great for years before I changed jobs that let me bring my own hardware finally.

Isn't that the truth. For a site with the word "hacker" in it there seem to be so few of them. I can't imagine letting all that curiosity die out of me like the parent comment implies. I don't have the amount of tim

Such a weird take, complaining that a trillion dollar company might no longer be your personal guardian who gets to decide what you are allowed access to. All you want is Apple to continue fucking over the people who build the software just

This site has some of the worst attitudes towards anything that's not just the same old apple garbage. Bring something thats genuinely unique or something that really encompasses the spirit of what a hacker was when I was growing up yo

MeshCentral is great, just migrated all my rustdesk setup to it. I mostly use it for family remote support and things tho, performance isn't amazing but it's plenty good. Also supports things like relaying over an agent, hardware

Cloud isn't a dependency to accomplish this. I can stand up new instances of our primary infrastructure within minutes on any VM or server running linux and our agent. This sounds like a case of treating your infra as pets and getting

I really don't get why people keep promoting this idea of Apple buying Kagi. People not invested in the Apple ecosystem also use Kagi and all it does is ostracize those people just like they did in the Dark Sky acquisition. It's a
