What if robberies decreased by 20% for some unrelated reason and the legislation increased robberies by 10%? It would still look like a 10% decrease overall.

Can you give an example of those elaborate incantations? Parse errors are not the greatest, but they removed the most common error I have seen among people learning to program which is forgetting the semicolons.

It felt like I was playing Half Life 2 while watching a zombie movie. I guess it's hard to make a recommendation without knowing what this dude likes in games.

Spiritually it seems to be a replacement for C++. If you're using C++ for something, Rust seems like a well-thought-out C++. If you're using C for something, then probably not, for the same reasons you are not using C++.

Why does decreased demand indicate that something is wrong? Maybe people don't want those particular goods anymore.

It sure would be clever if Google realized they don't have to build out the fiber, just threaten to.

Isn't App Engine no server by the same metric? You could make an autoscaling app engine module with some HTTP handlers and it seems like you have the same thing.

The new Go 1.5 GC has much shorter pause times. The smell hasn't improved much though.

If it replaces the "coding on a whiteboard" part then it was definitely worth it to me.

This is pretty much how I view Docker as well. Except it's not really the entire operating system. A VM image is the ultimate static linking.

It seems like renting computers by the minute is pretty cheap these days. I'm surprised more people don't just have one machine per test, run them all in parallel. Testing seems to be embarrassingly parallel in that usually your
