Right, so 40 years later we have 100% autonomous cars and use the entire road capacity of 20% more than we currently use. Also more people are driving so we are back where we started with traffic jams or waiting in line to get on the road.

What is the capacity of a road with 100% self-driving cars, and how does that compare to the capacity we are utilizing today? And how could traffic jams not happen? What happens when you exceed the capacity of a road? If you just wait in

In what way do they not scale as well as trains do? I think self driving cars will probably introduce a huge pile of problems, but that particular claim seems odd to me.

I have ridden SF public transit of all kinds. MUNI buses are the worst, and it's not because of things that could be solved with policing. The worst part is the super high variance in door-to-door times, even if you try to plan your

Regular CSV also has that "problem". Being able to cut the file into pieces is actually really useful when you want to, for instance, process each piece on a different computer. Line-delimited JSON preserves that advantage.

On one hand I want it to succeed because it seems kinda cool, on the other hand it could be another Google Glass. At least you tend not to wear these in public, so it's got that advantage.

If you avoid calling c code, you don't have to use cgo, which may be a better reason than "being difficult".

In relation to this, user interfaces seem to be designed to have some response time less than some value. For games maybe it's 100ms, for the game console's dashboard, maybe 500ms, for an ATM, it's like 4000ms. I suspect the

OSv seems like the much more practical alternative. That being said I suspect we will just be using more and more stripped down linuxes and containers for quite some time.
