I thought those scrapes of the web like The Pile we're only around like 45TB? It's a good point though. I'm sure logistically it'd also be way harder than the embarrassingly parallel nature of crypto mining.

Saw this a few days ago. Really enjoyed it. I thought he made a good point about dictatorships being positioned fundamentally differently than democracies with respect to the current technology that's out there now. I also found his an

Yeah, I second this. I use this frequently and lots of models downloaded that I test out with it. I'm keen to see a more API led approach.

Any evidence or sources for that? I just don't know how that would be knowable to any of us. Yuval Noah Harari gave a great talk the other day on the potential threat to democracy from the current state of the technology - https:/

It's definitely not something I would attempt to productize and profit off of. I'm virtually certain someone will, and I'm sure that capability is being worked on as we speak, since we already know this type of thing occurs a

The other day someone offered up their 200x GPU crypto mining cluster to train uncensored models after the incident on HuggingFace where someone threatened to get the uploader of the uncensored models fired citing safety issues.

I think I'm just going to build and open source some really next gen astroturf software that learns continuously as it debates people online in order to get better at changing people's minds. I'll make sure to include documen

Not to mention you can't change it's mind by arguing with it, but it can use that data to train a better model that's more effective at changing yours.

Funnily enough it's not hard to imagine certain groups of people campaigning to give it rights given people essentially want to create human level intelligence that acts as a slave (including sexual slavery), and once it has rights it

I'm not as intimately familiar with South Korea as I am with Japan, but they share a lot of parallels, and Japan is set up in such a way that it just grinds people down, monopolizes a lot of their time, and boxes them in. I really don&

I think you're missing the point here? There are plenty of censored / "aligned" models in the open source community. People are expending effort to supply the demand of "give me the raw, unfiltered thing".
