I don't see how anyone could have read the defuse proposal and failed to conclude that it was highly likely that covid was a lab leak. Particularly given the propensity in research to seek funding for work you already did under the tab

I paid $1700 USD-ish. I'm aware many products have a higher price in AU but that's pretty extreme! :) OTOH, dark skies plus a view of the southern sky is something to be jealous of. :P Earlier this year I was in eastern AU (and vi

That was done with a skywatcher EQ6. With a cooled camera shot noise from light pollution for me starts to dominate readout noise at only 5-10 second exposures for color, so in some sense the mount's stability and tracking matter less.

The M87 jet can be optically imaged by amateurs too, here is an image I took using a 400mm (focal length) f/2.8 camera lens, a cooled cmos sensor, and many hours of observation: https://nt4tn.net/astro/M87jet.png

There is some amount of controversy of the EHT imaging process because there are pretty strong priors backed into it (like a lot of modern physics observations, e.g. LIGO)-- and at least one group suggests that you get a similar looking don

Most of the users of these products were off grid. A number of the products used in off grid installs have invasive IOT remote access/administration. It's only a matter of time until it leads to loss of life-- e.g. from people who

Interesting, I've certainly had nuisance trips at <100% looking at https://www.ece.uprm.edu/~lorama/Square%20D%20CB%20Curves.pd... page 36 you can see even at the rated 25c ambient it goes below 1 (though not

It shouldn't. Google hasn't otherwise seen the image, so the employee couldn't have witnessed a crime. There are reportedly many perfectly legal images that end up in these almost perfectly unaccountable databases.

I think that's only a challenge at all because of how mass and power limited such a craft would be. The obvious solution is to use lasers. It might even be possible to use a modulated retroreflector on the craft-- e.g. we fire a high
