Serious question as a .NET developer... Why? What's the advantage? My first thought would be to skip the .NET and just use JavaScript all the way down. Or skip JavaScript and just go .NET all the way down. Second thought would be to ju

I wish I could make people play Factorio as some kind of training. My son (9), who showed me the game, spent the longest time building parts manually. I kept showing him how to automate, but it didn't really "click" until I

Some counties in Washington state have a Public Utility District which runs the fiber, then sells it through local ISPs. Lots of areas have 1Gb connections available for below $100/mo. What's more interesting to me is the effect o

I grew up in a town with 30,000 people (much smaller than Cedar Rapids) in the PNW. It's rabidly republican. Also 30% Hispanic. Sure, there's racists around, probably more than your average city, but it's not an intolerable a

So we should take the word of a random "author" who didn't even bother to publish his name and credentials over Inman simply because this guy blasted Inman for being a Millennial? That's just as wrong as accepting some d

I work for a medium-sized business in an out-of-touch (technologically speaking) industry. You would not believe the shit we pay for. Were our company in need of a way to cross the street, we would almost certainly look for a vendor suppo
