I don't know about isolated spots, but there are at least a few people on hn who travel the world while running their startups. Lionhearted (www.sebastianmarshall.com) is one.

You're not necessarily missing anything. I tried learning rails twice, and neither time did it really click with me. Then I tried learning django and it was a much better experience. I think it's just a matter of going with what works for y

I'm glad they're working well for you, but I'm not working on rumours - I just spent over a week and about a dozen phone calls trying to fix a mistake they made. Eventually they did accept that the mistake was at their end, but until that p

I'm not sure it's the kind of thing where you can expect a huge number of pre-launch signups. You're providing a tool, but not one that's solving a burning business problem, for example. Big pre-launch signups tend to be for sexy technology

Let me follow this up now I've seen the sites you posted. While there's nothing hugely wrong with your sites, there's also nothing hugely right with them. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just trying to be helpful. So mugshot wars is like

I think this is an incredibly good idea. The pricing is bizarre though. I'm guessing the short periods of time are for short trips away or vacations? Lose them, or at least tuck them away as a minor option somewhere. Up front you just want

I think there must be very few examples of groups of things for which 'best' is a useful word. What's the best car? What's the best country? Who's the best singer? What's the best beer? Which is the best musical instrument? Who's the best e

Looks like the right kind of thing, but at prices starting at $300 per month, it's a bit too steep (at least for now).

"Amazon trades for 2.2 times revenue. Facebook, said to have 2010 revenue of $2 billion, has a price-to-sales ratio of 41.5." 41.5 is an extraordinarily high price-to-sales ratio. Facebook is not an ordinary company, to be sure, but is ther

It's not a bad idea but your own front page has way too much information on it. What are we supposed to read first? Have a look through the hn archives for gradual signup patterns. Look at the front pages of some really successful sites and

Django's own documentation is extremely good. You can work through its tutorials to get going. But start with a python tutorial. I don't know which is the best, but other people should be able to help you. I would suggest this order of lear
