well quite frankly, you will need to hire someone, or else your patent will probably be worthless. A lot depends on the writing and if you get it wrong, you will lose in court.

there have been recent developments over an alternative, and http://github.com/mxcl/homebrew seems to be a very nice one. it's still growing, but seems to be a viable alternative to macports

you could actually do the same in /usr/local. all you need to do is install all packages to their own folder (eg /usr/local/custom/ruby-1.8.7) and then symlink the binary to /usr/local/bin. http://github.com/mxcl/homebrew/tree/ is a packa

I agree, slides hold your presentation together. They should give your audience a way to link the different parts of your story to the whole idea.

good point. But say you have a photoshop webapp (with all the features the desktop version has). When you want to apply several filters, you are depending on the capabilities of the server and also on the current stressload of the servers.
