I don't think it's so bad, and more importantly I don't see the solution. Google does what it does to make money, and ads are how it does that. If there's a more ethical solution it'll only be implemented if it'

I'm hesitant to even run it locally and try. I looked through the source briefly and didn't see any dead giveaways, but with how obfuscated, etc. you can make code it almost seems like it'd be safer/faster to re-implemen

I watched a TED talk by him and got the same impression. Maybe he is a genius, but it certainly is off putting to my own ego for him to laud how great he is all the time. Maybe I should just get over it.
