I lost my 1st gen iPhone a few weeks ago. Waiting for the 3GS has been quite an agony - I didn't realize I use it so much in my daily activities. To me the iPhone is an interface to the collective wisdom of the internet that is always with

You can check the data for an arbitrary country in Wolfram Alpha: http://www61.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=israel+military+spend... The numbers are different because they are estimates, possibly from different years. But is there a way to g

In VirtualBox I use the official minimal server Ubuntu distribution - JeOS. http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/serveredition/je... If you don't need GUI it's fine. You only need to allow PAE/NX from VirtualBox settings.

Where is the value? There has always been important real time data like stock market prices, weather, air traffic control etc. None of this changes a bit with the proliferation of internet and web apps, so it is hard to expect any new value

In its early days ICQ had a mode that allowed you to see what the other user typed before he hit "send" - just like google wave seems to do. I hated it - I like to edit my message and make sure it's right before others see it. I see value i

I doubt anyone wants to compare search results as part of their usual workflow: it's a distraction by definition. You can always bookmark the site, although it should remember your preferences in the url or in cookies.

I'm not in the USA and I can't get any Wikipedia integration ("deals to hawaii" does nothing special either). Your link works though. The quality of normal results (the only ones I can get) is bellow Google.

It's a new medium for communication. If it works, people will use it in new unexpected ways; if it doesn't, people won't use it. But there is a lot of excitement about new forms of real-time communication: twitter, recent friendfeed functio

There is more to it than being information-rich or information-poor. A pile of junk is information-rich, but it's not beautiful. It comes down to style and taste. The house looks organic. Like it has been grown instead of built. Gaudi's bui

Yes, AdBlock is more efficient because it doesn't load the ads at all while Chrome/greasemonkey load and hide them. No, I don't think it can be more efficient because chrome extensions like greasemonkey scripts cannot modify the page before
