The problem with your "retraining" idea is we've all seen Snowpiercer. We're in the back of the train and we know what you're doing up in front.

I wouldn't make that assumption. I wouldn't order that. I would always pay more for the beef. I'm just not going to eat that other stuff.

Wow, thanks! Not as good as it was, but not bad.

If it makes you feel any better, it's essentially impossible to convince a moon landing hoax believer they are wrong.

I didn't even realize this is why the feature didn't work anymore. I thought I was doing something wrong. It's terrible. I find text selection and cursor placement on the iPhone to be infuriatingly difficult. The trackpad fea

Really? A statement like "New Orleans has better food than East Saint Louis, Illinois" doesn't sound that silly to me.

I still read about claims that Moore's law is ending due to quantum tunneling because the transistors are getting too tiny.

Yeah I never quite got this. We can have Putin say “you’d better let me kill whoever I want or I’ll destroy the entire world”, but we can’t have power plants.

The house has so many design and decor cues from the house/neighborhood I grew up in in Redmond, WA. I wonder if there's a name for that design movement of orange carpet, wood panelling, wallpaper, linoleum, popcorn ceilings...

There was a spontaneity to Clubhouse that podcasts don't have. I'd get an alert that some neat-o celebrity was talking right now , and I could just tap on it and I'd be tuned in right away.

AM radio listenership in the US is measured in tens of millions a week, and falling. Maybe that can be a business? But I don't see how it could ever be even Twitter-scale.

It was definitely neat for awhile. I heard some great panels and conversations and learned some things that you'll never be able to find on Google - like did you know Tony Hawk learned to program on a TI-99/4A? Only way you'd

Maybe the real lesson is Clubhouse worked about as well as the idea would let it. It will never scale to billions of users because you’ll never get that many people interested in the idea of eavesdropping in live voice chats.

Do most people understand this, though? I would have assumed it was chiefly about a difference in size - that the main tradeoff would be reduced screen real estate in exchange for a lighter weight and smaller form factor.

I have salary requirements that have to be met, full stop, or I cannot waste my time talking to you. There is nothing you can do to convince me to go below my bottom line. I have bills to pay and my family is used to a particular lifestyle.
