I hear ya, but your assumptions are predicate on the quality and availability of Uber service remaining static if they increase their price, and I'm not sure if they can do that. (The current seemingly endless spigot of cost free tech

I'm in the same boat - I felt burned by GAE from way back in the day and so passed GCP over for AWS. After then making a POC zone day I was blown away by how far Google had come and so moved all of my next project over to GCE/GKE

Google was called "Backrub" before it was called Google[0] so a suboptimal name doesn't portend failure - focus on the product first! Nice work. [0]: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider

Oh for sure - I don't doubt the guy is upset, and clearly something caused that, there just seemed to be some kind of consensus that the actual driver receipts per mile/per minute on Uber Black had gone down given the numbers in

And even then, there's 0 indication or evidence that there's any link between the price paid to drivers and the price paid by riders. For all we know Black car drivers could be receiving more right now than they were when Ube

Is there any evidence provided that the per-mile amount paid to drivers of Uber Black cars has gone down? I saw the article mention that the price to customers has gone down from $4.90 to $3.75, but is there any evidence of this actually fl

The article says that the Uber customer price went down for Black ($4.90 to $3.75 etc) but does anyone have any evidence that the amount paid to drivers has gone down (given there's a large disconnect between Uber customer prices and

But there's no indication that this has anything to do with how much the driver receives. This number is how much Uber receives.

Yeah, I'm skeptical about that though, as I still see lowest requests in the 400ms range when hitting the API Gateway with serious load (say 100k requests running at a 400 req. concurrency level). Also, even if you cache SSL sessions
