> AI is a bubble why does it even matter? I know that I need multimodal search in my product, and that is why I need vector DB. You're not saying anything interesting by saying "AI is a bubble". If you say something like I

range(1, 3) might be more consistent, it's a single value that is a range and not 2 values. On a side note: a problem with CSS' claim to be a programming language is that the grammar is not obvious.

not at all, the wet dream of css is to be able to layout just with css and only semantic markup, to which flexbox falls short sometimes because you need to add non-semantic elements (columns and rows).

And people complain that typescript is crazy. I think we just need to acknowledge that typing is hard, especially with what mainstream languages give us.

This is nice but tackle it this ways might be unnecessarily complicated. I don't always need to look at the cost while writing code and it could fail to track, say, resources dynamically created with something like CDK. More useful for

the errors in ML translation would be systemic and less likely to be of human arbitration, which is less dangerous. Human translation could be deliberately misleading at a specific phrase in a specific interview.

is there a place where I can read about what ParadeDB actually does? Surely you do more than just pre-install the extensions? Do you also develop the extensions yourself? Do you support RAG? The last question may not make sense as I am new

so maybe don't cling on to "the job" so much and hoping it somehow can fulfil your life. If the job can be automated by a machine then isn't it already meaningless and mundance and bore you to death anyway? I agree with

This could be useful in combating fake news. In many videos especially in political news, foreign languages are dub over with sometimes nuanced translation that can skew audiences to (mis)understand the content in certain ways.

why not, many data related tasks are rather ad-hoc, it's a waste of time to make a long lasting software out of every ad-hoc request

Most web apps bundle and host js. The majority of cdn usage is there because that's how people outside engineering/IT, such as marketing, do it.

how do people writing C# deal with its gazillian features? It seems easier (and more useful) to learn and master every language that it absorbs, rather than C# itself.

no more "sloppiness" than to refer to the USSR as just "Moscow", as that's where the majority of important decisions, the kinds that nuclear weapon would fall into, were made.

it's an excerpt from a book, that presumably has a lot of things to say about China. Why focus on that to elevate some petty point that China does not have 5000 years of history. So what? it still has millennia, counting only written h
