This is wrong. It goes beyond this. There are various clear examples of Apple exercising far too much authority. It's not a question of whether you should use certain products. It becomes a question of whether you should trust Apple at all.

This is my main issue with ST2. It's missing various features that I consider to be almost key for my workflow. I'm stuck running code from the terminal because of the limitations of build systems in ST2. There's a nasty and supposedly un-f

It's interesting that this is the same mindset as non-technical consumers. They don't want anything to change, ever, because it breaks their workflow. I suppose there's a tendency for some to be on the bleeding edge. I suspect everyone has

I fought with Python for weeks before I picked up Ruby. It clicked perfectly and I've never had to fight with it. I don't see how Python can be objectively better than Ruby. I don't know enough about Lua to comment.

Enjoying a feeling is fine. I don't think anyone reasonable will take issue with that. I do, however, take issue with calling it curiosity. Curiosity is defined as a desire to learn something or know something. Even if you do want to know,

This premise is flawed. There are certain ingredients that one just doesn't enjoy. If a dish is cooked with those ingredients, you won't like it regardless of the quality. That's pretty much where my analogy falls apart, so I'm ditching it.

Not everyone has time to contribute to every project that may be useful in some way. If something else works the way one wants, there's no call to put time and energy into a competing project.

I really love the comparison to photography. It's good to remember that no one tool is perfect for every job and that new doesn't mean better. That said, it's also good to remember that there's nothing wrong with loving your languages as lo

The OS is meant to be on phones targeted at consumers outside the typical smartphone market. It's supposed to be a high quality low-end alternative to iOS/Android, unless I'm forgetting something.

It's difficult to reply to this because there are lots of moving, intertwining parts. I'll label them, I guess 1) I didn't assume political apathy, but I did assume apathy about this particular case. 2) His responses suggested that he

I don't have an issue with most of these. In fact, to me, "ruby allows you to do X, and it shouldn't" is an annoying line of thought. If I want to make my language dance, I don't want it to cry-- I want it to sing along. There's one that I'
