It also requires trivial opt-out and readability of the opt-ins. And it gives enough power to really control what companies are doing with people's data. And the fines are huge (up to 3% of the company's global gross amount) compa

AFAIK Bitcoin early-mined blocks were mined and are still owned by its creator. So it's perfectly ok to be cynical about Bitcoin as well. Edit: Some details here https://bitslog.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/t

When the cost of retrieving an item from your slower storage is pretty much the same for every item, may it be old or new, small or big, popular or not.

Your solution is a good one, but I get kind of sad when I remember the context : launching a text editor :/

This is usually because, by default on many Linux flavours, the current directory is not included in your path environment variable.

You could "compile" your animation as an executable file, as well as an SWF file.

Not sure why your comment gets downvoted. It's a fair point, especially since non-geek people don't have a clue who produces the apps they have installed on their smartphone.

People fry red meat ?! I have spent much time in the US, but I think I have never seen that...in restaurants at least. And I'm kinda glad I didn't.

You'd be surprised how interesting a pig can be as a pet. They show amazing social behaviours, and they also seem to be quite good at understanding simple spoken communication.

It seems to me the exact same service existed already, by picking a stack on Bitnami's website, and single-click-launching it on AWS. The price structure is clearer on Lightsail though.

Server-side : - Node.js is great if you like JS. It couples really well with MongoDB (see MEAN stack). - Play Framework is quite nice if you want to stick to Java. Client-side : - React is...well you tried it. - Vue.js is great.
