Just as I'm hesitant to take advice from a personal trainer who has never worked out, I'm hesitant to take advice on starting a business from a guy who has never started a business. While I agree that info products and affiliate m

I think that's the point. The author sees himself as PIH. He doesn't care about changing the world and sees SG as silly. The article is a satire of Startup Guy.

I don't think there's any real value in HN points, so you're basically asking if it's worthy of something worthless. It's just an indicator of interest by the HN community, not a gift of any worth. That being said,

I think this is actually a really interesting parallel. They're both virtual currencies, but one carries actual legal risk and the other doesn't. The question is, are they really all that different?

Since everyone in EVE is primarily competing against each other, this type of information is often kept close to the chest and used as leverage against others.

Nobody said anything about a massive time investment. When I said "take the time to explore and learn", I just meant somebody who does it, as opposed to someone who doesn't. In my opinion, putting options in a game for people

One of the nice things about not having documentation is that only those that take the time to explore and learn can exploit the feature. On the contrary, when documentation exists, not reading it would put you at a disadvantage.

One of my best friends is NYPD working in the projects in Brownsville NY, one of the most dangerous cities in NYC. From the stories he tells me, he is fighting a war. Of course, that's not applicable to most other areas, but it'

It's surprising you don't see the contradiction in saying that the open network of the internet is vastly different than our modern walled gardens, but then saying that our open real-world is comparable to the same walled gardens.

Do you have any evidence that Google Voice records phone calls without a user's explicit permission? I was never referring to voicemails (which are rarely used these days anyway). I also don't see how you can make the argument tha

I comment on Glass articles because I'm very excited about it. I don't comment on NSA articles because I personally don't find it to be an issue and I know I'll be burned at the stake and deemed an idiot for even conside
