Was going to say the same thing. I found it pretty distracting. It looks great, but at a detriment to usability.

I don't doubt that it may be a residual effect, but to say that it's an attempt at class warfare is to imply intent. I simply don't believe that intent is there. Then again, I generally err on the side of assuming people are

Your last comment about unpaid internships being an attempt to keep lower class people out of the industry seems pretty tinfoil-hat-ish. It's a much more logical conclusion that companies want to save money by not paying interns. They&

Let's be real - if Twitter automatically deleted gibberish as spam, the majority of Tweets from the average Twitter user would be removed.

It's not misleading at all. They specifically said it was a test setup and stated that their aim is to be at around 1ms latency in the next decade. Obviously that means working on the other limiting factors to get there as well. It

The engineers were made to beg for info on the girl, so they might be getting some satisfaction from keeping a secret from the author in return. I know I would. Give 'em a taste of his own medicine. Also, if it was a relatively simple

I'll ignore your belittling comment and ask you to clarify what exactly you suppose will be done with the data about my browsing habits. I'll return the sentiment, however, and suggest that maybe you don't grasp that there ar

Wow....you just took web analytics and tracking and somehow morphed it into the holocaust. That's probably the biggest slippery slope argument I've ever seen in my life.

As i mentioned to another commentor, I don't think we should encapsulate everyone under the same policies nor do I think everyone should feel the same. I believe it's OK for people to want a lot of privacy. However, through this w

I don't think I said anything about global disregard. I asked why I should personally care. It seems like there are a lot of people trying to tell me I should care, but I did not once say that others should not care.

And if I am? Everyone has varying degrees of privacy preference. Who's to say that any end of the spectrum is wrong or right? Mine just happens to fall on the more liberal end.

1) I don't agree with this. If I walk into (or around) a Best Buy and they capture my movement on a security camera, are they stealing from me? Technically, they are recording data of my movement. Also, stealing generally infers that t

I have control of my browsing habits. That's my point - I'm not terribly worried about if companies see what I do, so it doesn't change my behavior. Thus, I don't see how this point shows that tracking makes my life wors

Does that really occur? If so, then I'd agree that would be a good reason to be against tracking, but I haven't seen hard evidence to show this happens.

I still can't figure out why my browsing data being sold is objectively a bad thing. I don't see how it makes my day-to-day worse in any way. There are plenty of smart people who feel that it's bad, so maybe I'm just mis

I'll be honest, I was pretty disappointed by this. Elon is my hero so I was excited to see what he might have come up with, but this doesn't seem like anything that your average hacker couldn't build with the tools he used. I

It's disappointing that you think the game is only about software for people under 30. There's so much more to entrepreneurship, but you're blinded by media attention and low hanging fruit.

Regardless of which article is correct (this one or the one it is referencing) in predicting the future of software employment, I think we'd all do well to keep an eye out for the future and be agile and ready enough if a Detroit-like

Kevin Spacey clearly gets it. Rampant piracy is an indication of a failing business model. It's not that people aren't willing to pay, and that's evidenced by the success of Netflix and shows like House of Cards. Same can be

I was referring to linking in the video, but you make a good point about wanting to link to videos made after the fact. While piggybacking may be an option for garnering initial views, using it for this purpose encourages response spam. Usi
