Other comments in this thread are claiming bitcoin makes it much easier to launder money. So which is it? Zero privacy or increased privacy and anonymity?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest the group with teams of PhDs writing high frequency trading algorithms might have an advantage over a dude with a Robinhood account.

> that means a ton of people are losing the life savings they dumped into this out of excitement as it crashed back down Can you provide a single case of someone losing their entire life savings by YOLOing it on GME at the top?

Zero commission trade is actually bullshit anyway. You end up losing more from inferior execution time than you would if you just paid the $5 per trade. Robin Hood also lied to users about this and ended up paying a $65 million fine[0]. [0]

I mean the WSB user count has grown from 2.2m on Monday to now 7.5m. If 5 million of those users all bought $100 worth of GME that's half a billion, if they bought $1000, that's 5 billion.

Also why would they not send a message out ahead of time if this was the case? Surely they were aware of this potential risk? Completely unacceptable to not inform users ahead of time.

Robin hood is done. Potentially thousands and thousands of dollars could have been lost. Maybe it was a liquidity issue, who knows, but not even giving your customers some sort of warning that they would block purchasing? Completely unaccep

Both can be true. Citadel, the hedge fund that bailed out Melvin Capital (the hedge fund that over shorted GME) is Robin Hood's largest client. So it could be there was incentive for Robin Hood to ban trading on behalf of Citadel and t

As Chomsky[0] I think rightly points out, the suffering and grievances of trump supporters is real, but unfortunately they are unable to correctly identify the cause of their suffering. Evidence seems to support this as deaths of despair ha
