When I first saw a ferris I thought they were a nerdy joke. I ended up buying one though due to severe RSI and wanting a programmable keyboard so I could reduce how far I was reaching for symbols etc. I'm now a convert to programmables

Basically nothing but yoga for the last 3 months. Seems like the only thing worth doing. Every book on proper yoga/enlightenment says it's the way to lasting fulfilment. So I'm prioritising myself at the moment. I even pulled

Probably so they aren't deflected. POW could be replaced by the more efficient POS, but network effects make that highly unlikely without government intervention.

Again, it's the 'way over 75k' part. A few hundred k max (and that's assuming a family), and there's not much difference after that. I think a true sense of purpose to life is likely to make someone far happier, and

If money makes you happy why do so many celebs die of drug overdoses? By your logic they should be constantly dancing in the streets. Instead we have morons like Trump. If you can't infer from those peoples' behaviour money doesn&

A relief doesn't make you happy though. It just makes you not stressed. IME there's totally a plateau where you realise more money just means more expensive toys with minimal increase in actual fulfilment or happiness.

Trying to submit this research article on Kundalini awakenings, but getting throttle for some reason: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8417526/ Psychologists have accepted the experience as real.

Yeah, historically, and even now, there were good reasons for not talking about altered states of consciousness too much. It seemed like a good way to end up being executed. Now describing some of the experiences that are supposed to accomp

To be honest, I haven't read into western writing too much, but kundalini certainly leads to mystical experiences. It's closer to the Holy Spirit in Christianity, an animating principle (where the Father is pure awareness). Kensho

Kind of related to what I was mentioning on the Godel thread, but IMO the Kundalini (or whatever you call it) experience is the "grand unifying theory" of religion and mythology (although it's not actually a theory, but an ex

It means there's a meditation that is supposed to provide direct spiritual realisation. As this involved a transformation of consciousness, it was known as alchemy - change. However, historically the instructions were kept secret and s

What's your point exactly? Oh I see, should we care. I don't. You can reason it either way. As for alchemy it's a meditative practice that makes sense if you understand it. Where the external alchemists went wrong was no one
