I'm working in remote Zambia at the moment, in a place which only has a poor satellite connection and WhatsApp has been the only service which allows me to friends and family outside of the country. I live the UK and have been spoiled

It's nice to see all the love for django here. I've been developing with django for many years now and I feel like more and more developers are finally picking it up for various projects. It's remained very popular for quite

I wouldn't call tabs a usability horror show with the reason you stated. Surely you can just drag a tab off the tab line and then you have it in its own window. Ready for you position however you want, in the full control of the window

It really isn't a problem on android. YouTube works perfectly on android chrome, but chrome tends to open the YouTube app on android since it's installed by default.

Being a web developer, I would love this. Not sure how it would look in practice, but web developers are the ones that use Ubuntu server a lot, so why not have a web developer flavour for the desktop. I you and I can just dream a little, as

I jumped ship the atom when all the hype was around. Semantically, they feel almost identical to me. But I missed the performance that came with sublime. I now bounce back and forth between the two, depending on... well I'm not sure wh

I'm in the middle of building a fairly large application which features a fairly deep and complex user interface for one part of it. I seriously don't know how I would have done it without react (or something similar). There are s

I've been watching YouTube videos for years and years. I like having something on in the background while working from home, so i have watched a hell of a lot of videos. Never once clicked an annotation. Maybe once or twice by accident

I really didn't have this issue when it became commonplace. It felt natural. Like a piece of paper sitting on a table. If i want to "scroll down" the paper by moving it up, i would touch the paper and move it up. Scroll down

This is a really nice way doing commits. It's the kind of simplicity that can be made into a simple document and shared easily, or printed out and put somewhere everyone can see. Might try and get my team into using this. At the moment

Ableton live was the last thing that made me keep a Windows install alongside Linux. I switched to bitwig and never looked back. Took a few weeks to become fully natural with it, but that probably has something to do with years of muscle me

I think valve very much supports Linux. Their steamOS is built on top of Linux, so it is in their best interest to support it. I've been running steamboat. Linux for a while now and have never had any issues running g it. Sure, there a

This is quite nice. Doesn't add anything revolutionary to the command line, but shaves some seconds off of typical things I always find myself doing. But shaving a few seconds off during a session adds up. So thanks for the extra devel

Very much so. I think a lot of people who code or know much about it are surprised by how much abstract thinking there is involved when programming. I would love to time my work hours (somehow) over the course of a few months and see the am
