The thing is - the world young people are accustomed to is just a carefully managed matrix. There are glitches. "Why do house prices endlessly rise?" "Why am I working so hard in such a technologically advanced world yet can&

The purposes of money are: - store of value - unit of account (a measuring stick for value) - medium of exchange Allowing the financial system to inflate the money supply destroys two of those fundamental qualities. The fact it can additio

TLDR: to understand bitcoin you have to see the problem it's solving - most people are blind to it even though it affects their lives terribly. https://x.com/saylor/status/1878154748353818932 > "The b

That's right - it doesn't really matter if people have to convert their savings from bitcoin to government tokens in order to buy things. Bitcoin is still extremely functional at protecting people from the massive debasement that

I'm not going to spoon feed you, but look up the "What Is Money? Saylor Series" podcast episodes and that will answer all of your questions. Look up Gresham's and Thier's laws for the quick answer

If you're interested in knowing why, the reason for this is century-long expansion of the money supply at an average of ~7% year. This halves the value of the dollar every decade and assuming you get an average payrise of 2%/year,

The paper and its author is completely irrelevant. It was only required to convey an idea, and that idea has been understood, refined and elaborated much further since then. Bitcoin "is what it is".

Define "right-wing". Ultimately either the evidence is correct or it's not, no matter how it's funded. This documentary demonstrates how much of the current mainstream evidence is in fact incorrect, explains why it'

Well, I'm afraid that that only goes to prove errors in your intuition and critical thinking skills. Your facts are incorrect and your logic uses an appeal to (lack of) authority fallacy.

I disagree completely. Videos allow you to time-stamp exact moments for reference and provide animated evidence, rather than just stills. Some videos are meant for entertainment, others are not. Same goes for books and other text-based medi

Why's that? A topic as big as this takes quite a lot of refuting. If you're interested in finding the truth, then you'll at least begin watching it to see if it offers any promise.

The cause of inflation is printing more money than they destroy. But that's how the incentives lie. The banks get paid (interest) to print (loans). This is why we bitcoin.

I agree. A lot of new additions to C++ make coding with it simpler, not more complex. However it does mean there's more to learn, because the old style of the language still exists and is still accepted by the modern compilers as oppo

200MB blocks would lead to a >100x increase in size of the blockchain compared to the 1.6MB blocks we currently have, putting it at around 100TB. Of course that would significantly reduce decentralisation - instead of a standard 1TB disk

This would lend weight to the hypothesis that there's a significant amount of nation-state mining occurring. This way they can obtain bitcoin in secret without causing a run on the price.
