Let don't kid ourselves here, even if Twitter crashes and needs a few weeks or even a few months to recover it doesn't matter. People who leaved will comeback again, after a year everything will be like nothing ever happened. And

I for sure do not trust a company that have security breaches happen every now and then. Not sure that even Mr. Musk can fix that.

the competent 10%? just joking, bootstrap aside the only thing I remember about Twitter engineers was the "happiness" password incident and several similar cases. Competent may be a stretch.

well one of the weakest point of crystal is it's slow compiling time. A full-featured framework for crystal looks nice on paper, but after your app grow it will become a hinder instead, solely for the additional compiling time overhead

Yes, for compile crystal program to windows binary, you need to install VS Build Tools. But after the executable binary is compiled then it can run without any dependencies. I think the later is more important for a window program. I gave t

Nice question! To earn $20 a day they certainly would need to work overtime. And there is almost no such thing as benefits.

I think Crystal is better than Python in term of language design. Unlike Ruby and Python that were way older, crystal is relatively new, so they learned from other languages mistake and try to improve it, result in a more cleaner language.

> Crystal doesn't have built-in support for parallelism They do, but it is hidden inside a compiler flag, if you compile your prject with `Dpreview_mt` then it will come with multi-threaded support. This has been an experimental fea

It's kinda working right now, with some missing features like exceptions raising and catching, block closures, c-library binding (only libc works IIRC). You can follow the activity here: https://github.com/crystal-lang&

There will be an interpreter, so at least the feedback loop when developing will be fast enough. Time to compile an optimized binary will be still slow for the foreseeable future.
