Of course, Python is the leader but the only other language which comes even close is C++. It (C++) is also vastly more fun for hardcore programmers so yes it should be an option in the toolbox.

But to flip this around, let's say you want to use this third party in some other "modern" language how would this become better?. Clearly if someone hadn't done the work to package in vcpkg/conan you can expect it

Most important reason for the rebirth of golang (after it's initial dip in early '10s) and wide spread adoption of Kotlin is the ownership of Java by Oracle. It doesn't matter what fine print exists, but everyone knows what k

Jobs with primarily companies that advertise on hacker news and not a broad representation of the job market. Clearly the boom time of 2021 and the subsequent bust very visible with Python.

Julia syntax is so nice and consistent, a welcome relief from the oddball things that are a result of a mishmash in numpy/python/pandas world. Damn shame it hasn't taken off as much. While Multiple dispatch is great, I feel i

Rust is more complicated than C++ to get your head around due to it's specialized concepts around lifetime, ownership, async and other topics. The upside is memory safety. If you don't need memory safety and very close to C++ perf
