You should try PlatformIO. It solves exactly the problem (last line) for known boards. I did some hobby work but your mileage might vary. Caution that it is C++ first platform (rather than C), so if you are having allergic reaction* might t

Kudos, I think (in the short term at least) there is a large amount of perf. optimization to be found by coding parts of the whole AI/ML infrastructure in C++ like this one, not as a rewrite (god no!) but drop in and fix key bottleneck

The general spike in interest from 2021 onwards (the language has been around for a while so it's not like people just found out) is due to a large hangover from crypto folks who become jobless after the bust. Super savvy in general be

Also, it is worthwhile reading the standard proposal paper for lot of examples of how this might be used in the future. https://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2025/p29...

“Whole new language.” Mic drop. LOL, I'm sure for many it is Heart sink. I kid, but good to see at least some progress, though not what many practitioners want in day-to-day programming.

Performance drop of 2x for memory safety critical sections vs Rust rewrite taking years/decades, not even a contest. Now, if that drop was 10x maybe, but at 2x it is no brainer to continue with C++. I'm not certain Fil-C totally w

Rust is the future of systems programming and will always be for the foreseeable future. The memory issue will mostly be addressed as needed, see from John Carmack yesterday[1], the C++ ecosystem advantage (a broad sense of how problems whe

As repeated for another game engine, written in modern C++20 gives one great confidence in the viability and longevity of the engine. Good choice, kudos on the effort.

Complaining about C++ seems to be a personality trait for some developers. It's there, whether you like it or not, use it or not. Move on.

My first impression was Frederick Forsyth is still alive?? remembering him from classics that seemed ancient when I read them decades ago. Think Ian Fleming and James Bond type books. Toast to him though, great talent nevertheless. RIP.

std::list to std::vector should be the big one. std::map to std::unordered_map could be next. then, really ranges/constexpr/std::move could make a difference, hard to say definitely. Beyond these, Modern C++ would have most defini

Not only is it not C++23, the C++ code is from the 2011 paper!, so pre-C++11. Rust maybe better than code written before C++11 is not a strong take.
