I wonder who will be the first country to make an exception to copyright law for model training libraries to attract tax revenue like Ireland did for tech companies in the EU. Japan is part of the way there, but you couldn't do a comm

It's also the slowest possible system, there are benefits for a closed loop system: https://atadistance.net/2020/06/13/transit-gate-evolution-wh...

I've heard that makes procurement way more difficult, you can't just order a train car in the standard gauge from many manufacturers. It's like big and tall sizing, yes, any place can make it, but there just isn't that

It's also had phone based clipper card support for years now. Credit card open loop systems are pretty slow compared to a well implemented closed loop transit system like they have with suica in japan, but BART's clipper is proba

Read closer, "naturals" means they have talent at the skill, unlike the contrasted people who have a harder time about it in parent comments. If you are a natural, it doesn't mean you go pursue that skill either. You also

yes you can have both, but they are both distinct. ASD is not really treatable with stimulants.

I also think ADHD is a combo of many different, more specific problems that we blob into ADHD since we are not precise enough to diagnose it beyond the 3 types we have now, and these sets of problems are responsive to stimulants. For some p

They need adjustable dials like they do in some API interfaces for power users. Like a sycophancy dial, a safety dial or "turn off the child lock permanently" like they have for microwaves.

They can, but the token to content ratio is far less, so they work less effectively when it's put into the inference context window.

Hope this make apple's Xcode team realize they should do this, especially with all the recent AI integration.

It was definitely a thing during the dot com bubble. It was just so stupid that most probably don't talk about it much nowadays to be indexed. You'd need to somehow restrict your search history to pre 2002

No, that optimizing and interviewing for performance under pressure is not needed for most software engineers, while it makes sense for fighter pilots. It's is definitely more stressful.

Yes, because flying a war jet under pressure and landing it in the desert is the same as writing software over 5 months in an office. /s Test anxiety is real. Anxiety disorders are real in general, not to mention ADHD, autism and more

The topic set is very different and the conditions are very artificial. There are many engineers who are amazing, but are absolute shit about writing code, under pressure, while someone is looking over their shoulder, to a leetcode medium

You do have empathy for the person who had a tragedy, but it doesn't mean you go into full safetyism / scapegoating that causes significantly less safety and far more harm because of the emotional weight of something in the moment

After a certain point, people are responsible for what they do when they see certain words, especially words they know to be potentially inaccurate, fictional and have a lot of time to consider the actual reality of. A book is not respons

It's not being skilled at programming, it's being skilled at interview programming, which is very different. Also ringers are black market, so you can be hired everywhere and not blocked by not being in the USA in the first place.

I don't think backcompat is that big of a deal, since old DOS programs also don't take any compute power to run too and apple has shown layers like rosetta work fine.

Safari team explicitly targets perf as a target. I just wish they weren't so bad about extensions and adblock and I'd use it as my daily driver. But those paper cuts make me go back to chromium browsers all the time.

I was about to say it might be windows and use linux, since perf benchmarks on windows can be far worse for the same chip than linux, but you are using linux already.

They also know if they did that, they would get even more epic play store style lawsuits from facebook, google and more and be forced to let it happen by law, in an even worse way.
