There's also the Internet Archive which is much older than atleast Wikipedia and is often, in my opinion, under appreciated.

I don't know if you're familiar with the "Black Mirror" series. They're very hard hitting commentaries on our modern societies. One of the episodes (the first one of the second season) http://en.wikipedia

I was a lot less imaginative and wrote a little Emacs mode called Hyde which can be used to manage a Jekyll blog - https://github.com/nibrahim/hyde

I think you should identify a target audience. e.g. Emacs users who don't know elisp. The the questions which were posed become non existent. Keystrokes, editing etc. are best taught separately.

Many Indian developers choose their field based on parental and social pressure. I've been working with students in Engineering colleges in India and a significant fraction say that they joined Engineering just because their parents to

I could type it up and add give an "intro" before the screencast but I'm not sure it'd have much value. a TOC is mostly useful when you can use it for random access. The quick overview is better served by the blog post.

Can you drop me a line at noufal at emacsmovies.org. I would appreciate some advice. My transcoding-fu is mostly empirical and it would be good to get someone to review my decisions.

Thanks for the encouragement. When I started the tutorials, the archive didn't automatically create the .mp4 files. Either that or the processing was so way back in the queue that I thought it didn't. Someone complained about the webm files

Thanks. I've added https://github.com/nibrahim/emacsmovies.org/issues/5 Do you mean a TOC in the blog post or directly in the video for a few seconds? If the former, I did try to add a "list of things covered" in the post.

I'm the chap that made the tutorials and I agree with both of you. I can't, for the life of me, study anything from a screencast. Most of the ones I've seen are either too superficial to be worth it or too detailed to be useful without bein

Yeah. I'm sorry about the static. It was late when I did it and I didn't notice the problem before uploading it. I'll try to clean it up and upload a better version.

Formal training in computer programming should expose people to "standard" methods of solving problems (like constraint satisfaction, dynamic programming etc.). I did an AI course (and separately a lab) while at college and there were a few

You're either a sick troll or don't know the man at all. I've been to a number of conferences in my own country (India) and abroad and the PyCon in the States is my idea of a "perfect" conference. The people are nice, the prices are reasona
